Symbolism Notebook, Grade value: 20%.
The Symbolism
Notebook is primarily a bound work containing information directly
related to early Christian imagery and symbolism. The information
contained therein will come directly from class and well-established
research materials.
1. The notebook
should be organized alphabetically in a list form under subject
headings.
2. The student
has the option of presenting the notebook in a typed format or
handwritten. (Note: handwritten notebooks are expected to be of
high standard, and exceptionally legible.)
3. The notebook
should have a cover with an illustration related to Christian
symbolism and include a title, the course, the date, and both
the student and instructor's name.
4. The notebook
should begin with a table of contents.
5. A bibliography
page of outside sources should be included as the last page of
the notebook.
6. Illustrations
(hand done or pasted) are optional.
7. The notebook
should range from 10 to 20 pages, depending on the format.
8. The subject
categories are as follows:
I. Numerology
II. Images of Christ as a symbol (monograms, initials, and crosses)
III. Images of Christ as an animal.
IV. Images of Christ as a man.
V. Plants symbolism.
VI. Animal symbolism.
VII.Christian symbolism (note: under this heading one may include
symbols that do not fit under the headings listed above.)
